Dr. Ashlee Andrews - Owner
Dr. Ashlee Andrews was born and raised here in Albuquerque. She attended the University of New Mexico for her undergraduate studies and was a member of the Lobo track and cross-country teams.

Dr. Dayna Pauly - Medical Director
Dr. Dayna Pauly is a native of Albuquerque. She earned her BS in biology at UNM and her DVM from Colorado State University in 2007. Dr. Pauly’s clinical interests are constantly evolving but she really enjoys infectious disease management, learning and implementing concepts of One Health.

Melissa Prescott, Practice Manager
Melissa Prescott brings over 20 years of experience in veterinary medicine, having started in general practice in 1998 and spent 21 years in ER/Specialty care. A graduate of Cedar Valley College with a degree in Veterinary Technology, Melissa is also a Certified Practice Manager.

Dr. Karah Markins
Dr. Karah Markins completed her undergraduate studies at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia then attended vet school at VMCVM, graduating in 2016. Her favorite thing about veterinary medicine is that everyday presents the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of pets and their people.

Dr. Jeffrey Solan
Dr. Solan studied Applied Mathematics at the University of New Mexico. He attended veterinary school at Washington State University and graduated in 2022. Dr. Solan has a special interest in internal medicine as well as pain management.

Dr. Cole England
Dr. Cole England was born and raised in Illinois. He achieved his DVM at Iowa State University in 2010 followed by a rotating internship with focus in diagnostic imaging. He excels at soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, and preventative care.

Dr. Melida Hedberg
Dr. Melida Hedberg was born and raised in Albuquerque and graduated from Sandia High School. She then received her B.S. in biology from UNM and her doctorate in veterinary medicine from Iowa State University.

Dr. Teri Wheeler
Dr. Wheeler started her veterinary career in Iowa. She attended the University of Iowa for her undergraduate studies and attended Iowa State University for veterinary school, graduating in 1983.

Dr. Melissa Smith
Dr. Smith grew up in Western Pennsylvania. While visiting friends outside of Pecos in 1996, she fell in love with New Mexico, and made it her permanent home. Her background is in medical and social science research and she worked for both the University of Washington, as well as the University of New Mexico, collectively for many years.

Dr. Kim Hamel
Dr. Hamel is a New Mexico native, hailing originally from Santa Fe and later Albuquerque. Her lifelong passion for animal welfare led her into the veterinary field. She completed her undergraduate work at UNM and went on to Veterinary school at Washington State University, graduating in 2006.

Dr. Nicholas Aguirre
Dr. Nicholas Aguirre was born and raised in Albuquerque. He completed his bachelor degree at New Mexico State University and then attended veterinary school at Colorado State University, graduating in 2021.

Dr. Vatsana Phaybouth
Dr. Phaybouth has only known Albuquerque as her home. Her family immigrated from Laos to the USA when she was still very young.

Dr. Darbie Hurst
Dr. Hurst was born and raised in the Seattle, Washington area. She received her DVM from Washington State University in 2008. She moved to New Mexico in 2009 where she developed a particular enjoyment for small animal medicine.
