Meet Dr. Darbie Hurst
Dr. Hurst was born and raised in the Seattle, Washington area. She received her DVM from Washington State University in 2008, then went on to complete an internship at Willamette Valley Equine Medical and Surgical Center in northwestern Oregon. She moved to New Mexico in 2009 where she worked as a mixed animal practitioner for 4 years. During this time, Dr. Hurst developed a particular enjoyment for small animal medicine, shifting her focus entirely to this area in 2013. She especially enjoys senior feline care, canine and feline medical management, palliative/hospice care, preventative care and client education.
When not at work, Dr. Hurst enjoys spending time with her two young children, husband, and dog, Daphne. Otherwise, when she’s not enjoying her singing or hiking hobbies, she can be found riding and training her horse Ophelia in dressage and trail riding.
